An Occupational Therapist, or OT, can assess your child’s fine motor skills, visual perceptual skills, cognitive skills and sensory processing.
Examples of things an OT might help your child work on are:
- Fine motor skills, so they can grasp and release toys
- Learning basic day to day tasks such as bathing, getting dressed and feeding
- Recommend and adapt specialized equipment such as wheelchairs, bathing equipment or communication aids
- Sensory issues
OT’s may work with your child when they are in the hospital, at one of our developmental centres or in your local community.
