The AAC Clinic is held at the Alvin Buckwold Child Development Program located at the Kinsmen Children's Centre in Saskatoon.
We support individuals who experience difficulties communicating with spoken language. We work with caregivers, including school teams, to recommend appropriate AAC systems.
We can assist caregivers in obtaining programming and implementing recommended AAC systems which can include gestures, signs, text, body language, picture communication systems, or speech-generating devices.
Our clinic functions as a consultative service to support caregivers with AAC use in the home.
We accept referrals for individuals ages 5-18 from Saskatoon and north, who are primarily non-speaking and who have additional differences in areas of gross motor, fine motor or cognition that may impact the way they are able to access or use their AAC system.
