Youth Partnership Council
The Youth Partnership Council:
- Sees the importance of improving healthcare for youth.
- Listens and suggests health care changes based on their experiences.
- Works together to talk about health care concerns.
- Connects with health care providers to share new information and ideas.
The leadership of the council is shared by a Patient Family Partner representative, the manager of the Child Life Program, and two members as voted by the council.

What We Have Done This Year
Are you interested in becoming a Patient and Family Partner and join the Youth Partnership Council?
- Patient and Family Partner councils are volunteer positions.
- Youth on the council are between the ages of 14 - 21 years old.
- There are six council meetings per year in September, October, November, February, April and June.
- Council meetings are in person and virtual.
- Applications to join the council can be sent anytime and are reviewed once per year in June for the upcoming year which is September – June.
- If you are interested in joining, please complete the Youth Partnership Council Application Form.

- Bill of Right Youth Survey: The Youth Partnership Council is recruiting individuals to complete a survey focused on Our Commitment to Each Other: Patient Rights and Responsibilities to gather more information about youth experiences in health care. To be eligible for the survey, you must be between 14 and 18 years old and have a valid SK health card. If you are eligible, please complete the Better Together Patient Experience Survey
- Upopolis: strives to empower adolescents living with chronic conditions, grief, mental health, and other life challenges. This organization enables peer-to-peer engagement to connect youth and teens facing life challenges with clinician moderators and youth mentors with lived experience to help them cope and live well. Information regarding Upopolis can be found on the website.
- Kids Help Phone: is Canada’s only e-mental health service that offers free, multilingual and confidential support to all youth. Information can be found on the website or any young person can call 1-800-668-6868
