The Government of Saskatchewan may provide financial assistance to eligible families who are referred out of province for medical care for their child to assist with out-of-pocket expenses. Please go to the Government of Saskatchewan website located here for more information.
What are the steps for our family to receive financial assistance?
- Your child will need to see a pediatrician, pediatric specialist, or specialist program to have an assessment.
- If your child is being referred out of the province to receive care, your doctor can complete a Pediatric Out-of-Province Travel Assistance Program Specialist Application (PTAP) form.
- Your doctor will send the form to the Saskatchewan Provincial Head of Pediatrics who reviews the application. This form is then sent to the Ministry of Health.
- The Ministry of Health will review the information and if you are eligible provide a written response to you and the doctor who completed the form. You will also receive the; Pediatric Out-of-Province Travel Assistance Program (PTAP) Claim Form.
